When you’re working out, you want your earbuds to stay in. That’s exactly what Bose designed their StayHear+ Sport tips to do. The tip is formed in a unique shape to create a gentle seal at the entrance of the ear canal, which helps improve audio performance. There’s also an extended flexible wing that uses the ridge of your ear for support and provides significantly improved stability—no need to force them in. The soft, silicone material and rounded profile delivers an unmatched combination of comfort and stability for long-term wear. And it should: We developed more than half a dozen prototypes based on original StayHear+ tips to ensure we had the best solution.
Bluetooth & NFC pairing keep you tangle-free
Pairing SoundSport wireless headphones to your Bluetooth device is simple. And if you have an NFC-enabled phone, it only takes a quick tap between your phone and the inline remote. Use the inline remote to take calls, control volume and skip or pause tracks. You’ll find the reliable performance and convenience keeps the focus on your sport or workout, not your headphones.
Superior audio quality turns up the intensity
You rely on music to push you further and drive you through the toughest workouts. SoundSport wireless headphones deliver, with the clear, full-range sound our wired headphones have long been known for. And now, volume optimized EQ provides a noticeable improvement to the sound quality at any volume.
Sweat- and weather-resistant design
Whether you’re sweating it out in the gym or braving the elements for a run, these headphones will keep you going every step of the way. The acoustic ports in each earbud are positioned to resist sweat and weather, and the hydrophobic cloth keeps moisture out.
Trusted performance, wherever you are
Challenging environments can lead to unreliable performance with many wireless headphones. A dropped Bluetooth signal outdoors or Wi-Fi® interference in a gym, for example. That’s why we’ve tested our headphones extensively, continuously tweaking until we got the performance we wanted—with no compromise to the audio performance or Bluetooth connectivity.
Connecting to Bluetooth devices and switching between them—say, from your iPad to iPhone when a call comes in—is now delightfully easy. The free Bose Connect app manages all connections with an intuitive graphic interface. Once paired with multiple devices, the headphones will switch between them automatically whenever you want. The app also provides software updates, product tips and even lets you personalize your settings.

I received these headphones to try out in exchange for an honest review. Just a warning, I like to add a lot of information! I own a number of Bose items, including AE2 (I have the highest ranked review for these on Amazon. Review Title: "Stop Listening to the Bose Bashers!!!"). I also own the IE2 headphones, Solo (the original model), and the Soundtouch 10. For starters these headphones come in the nice packaging Bose is known for. Upon inspection I was a bit taken back by what I was seeing. These headphones look very similar to some cheap "sport" bluetooth headphones I bought a while back from Amazon. The physical design just doesn't seem very well thought out. This is very surprising, since the other Bose products that I own have a well thought out feel to them. These fit decently in my ear, but they stick out way too far for my tastes. It gives you a "Frankenstein" look. My wife hated them the minute she saw them on me. It's just a strange design. Not compact and innovative like I would have imagined Bose bluetooth earbuds to be. They power on very quickly, and they paired surprisingly fast with my Galaxy S7. The bluetooth technology is definitely solid! The sound is just not there however. Dark with very recessed highs. I just don't like the sound at all. I understand that these are made for people working out, and not really for sitting around critically listening to high definition audio. I totally get that! But these are not what Bose fans are accustomed to. The sound just has a muffled, cheap sound. In a blind test I honestly don't know if I could tell the difference between these and any other cheap bluetooth sport headphones. As far as durability, I can't speak to that since I haven't had them long enough. As far as the overall quality, they are built very nicely. The cable that connects the left and right side is of very good quality. The inline remote/mic is setup like a standard iOS headset remote. I found the positioning of it very unnatural though. It feels like the remote is behind your neck when you're wearing them. There isn't much you can do about that though. The cable has a clip that allows you to clip these to the back of your shirt collar. That is one of the few well thought out items on these headphones. In summary: Physically these are built well. Design-wise they are uncomfortable and clunky feeling. They protrude from your ears and uncomfortable amount. These would be better for linear type workouts (i.e. running, biking, etc) and would not be so good for workouts that require laying back on a bench, or bending around machines. I'm pretty sure they would get caught on things, and/or would just be uncomfortable. And finally the sound is substandard. Good for a workout, but not much else. Hopefully version 2 gets a more streamlined design, as well as better audio quality. Thanks for reading my review! I hope it has been of help!
The packaging the headphones came in were very easy to take out of the box and under the headphones were the instructions, safety instructions, USB cable to charge the headphones, carrying case, and the ear tips for small and large ears just in case the standard medium tips are not comfortable with your ears. I charged the headphones out of the box and it didn't take long to get to 100 percent since it had some charge. Turning on the headphones was very simple as you just press the button on the right ear until you hear the voice prompt saying the charge of the headphone and saying its ready to connect. I connected my headphones to my iPod by going to the settings, clicking Bluetooth, and then clicked Bose SoundSport to connect to my iPod. When successfully connected to my iPod the headphones will tell me its connected to the device. Connecting to my note 4 was a little more difficult. I had to download the Bose Connect App to pair it with my phone. The great things about these headphones like the Bose Around Ear Wireless headphones is that you can have these headphones connected to your phone and your music device. These headphones are extremely comfortable. I wore them for extended hours and they never got uncomfortable. When I went running they didn't fall out my ears and I could do things such as clean and play with my siblings without them falling out my ears or me accidentally yanking them by a wire. The sound quality to me was great compared to the soundtrue ultra headphones that i bought previously. The highs and lows were great and the bass wasn't that overpowering and the songs sounded really clear. The only thing I feel could have been bad is they let in noise but I think for what most people are going to use these for such as running and working out, it's good to be aware of your surroundings. When I had the headphones connected to my phone and iPod, I had received a phone call and my headphones paused my music and let me pick up or deny the call. I talked to a few people and the sound quality was great and the people I talked to said they could hear me better then when I was using my phone mic. The inline remote is on the right side of the headphones and works on apple and android and is very convenient for controlling your music. To charge the headphones there is a removable flap on the back of the right headphone where you plug in the headphones to let them charge. The light will be orange which shows its charging and then will turn green when done. The battery life of the headphones was great i would use them for three or 4 hours and i would be at 40 percent battery. I got around 6 hours of battery life and it took them around 2 hours to get a full charge. . The headphones are very durable and are weather and sweat resistant like the soundtrue ultras and the non wireless soundsport headphones. They aren't noise canceling or noise isolating so they wont block out much noise compared to the qc 20s or 25s or the soundtrue ultras. I mostly use noise isolating or noise canceling headphones but these have become my favorite headphones and I use them every day now. I would recommend these to anybody trying to find wireless headphones or headphones in general.
great sound. excellent secure fit during high intensity workouts. Battery lasts all week without a charge. Connects easily with all my devices. These headphones tell you what devices are available and the battery level. Had a pair of beats wireless before and will never go back. Hands down best headphones I have ever owned.
I had the first Bose blue tooth and was very happy with it. The problem was I am a commercial truck driver and have to use my 2 phones hands free. Battery life was only about 5 or 6 hours. One day it fell out of my ear and I did not notice until I backed over it. Now I have a SoundSport battery lasts all day. I only use it for my phones. When I finish a call it tells me that it connected to the other phone. A very minor problem is after about 5 minutes it goes to sleep with a beep and I forget to power up when another call comes in and press the control bar twice and disconnect instead. Now after about 2 weeks the learning curve is over. Thanks Bose for always improving sound.
Amazing sound- as expected. What I didn't like at first, their design, has come to be my favorite part about them. They stick out of your ear pretty far and I thought it looked rediculous at first, but tons of people have asked me about them and say they look really cool.
This headset was sent to me for testing. I am in absolute luv with them. The fit is great, the sound is awesome. They are not like other headphones I currently own..ear pieces are comfortable and fit perfect in my ear. I've used it for everything so far..working out, at work and I also paired it with my desktop so I can listen while I watch my movies. The acoustics are fantastic especially for action movies. Bose in itself is a great product. I would definitely recommend this product.
I received my replacement headphones last week, and they have performed phenomenally! The sound quality is amazing, and true to the Bose legendary standards of sound! Yesterday, I went walking with my wife at a local park. What we thought was a 50% chance of rain, quickly turned into a 100% chance of storms, with lightning and heavy rain. These headphones stood up to the rain, heavy wind, and my running, jumping, and hopping over puddles! Although we were drenched and our shoes squeaked, I still had a wonderful listening experience! Bravo, Bose! You all have made a high quality pair of wireless headphones that can withstand heavy rain, while sounding great and remaining comfortably in the ear of the listener. THANK-YOU!!!
Pop is a part proximally two months ago. I run three times a week. They sound fantastic. Had three separate pairs of Dr. Dre Powerbeats wireless earbuds before, earpiece either broke, or the battery wouldn't hold a charge after three months. And they cost more to boot. These are the best yet wireless earbuds ive owned
Its been awhile since I had been this pleased with a in-ear headset. These are perfect and the sound outstanding!! Until now, I didn't have success with buds staying in my ear (beats) but these go in and stay. The cord moves with you as you move and doesn't pull the buds out. Hats off to Bose, this was a big step to leave the norm but I'm happy.
Excellent headphones with amazing sound and comfortable secure fit! First, these are the best sounding wireless in-ear headphones. Period. They produce clear sound with full deep base. Second, they stay in your ears during workouts and even during running. I've tried other "comparable" headphones, like NuForce BE6i Wireless Bluetooth headphones, and they are not even close on both counts - horrible fit and awful sound.
Bose creates another winner in the SoundSport® headphones! I found that the SoundSports: • During air travel; did a effective job blocking out cabin and jet noise. • Phone Calls were clear. • Music and aural tracks were balanced across the frequency range. My past experience has been with on and over-the-ear headphones, by various manufacturers, and iPhone and Yurbuds Ironman in-the-ear earphones all of the corded variety. The SoundSports were better than the corded varieties in all aspects!
I would have given this 4.5 stars if I could. I love these headphones. I'm a big weight trainer, I don't do a ton of cardio but a good part of my retraining also involves jumping. These have never once fallen out on me. As for distance, I have walked all the way across la fitness and through the locker room and they never broke up, they are amazing. The sound is great with the right ear bud. They shouldn't be loose in your ear. I do wish they had the option to buy half sizes on the ear pieces bc I think I would be in a half size but I make it work. As far as the look of them, I'm a female so maybe it's because I have long hair. These do not look bulky on me. Yeah they could be a little thinner, which I think will probably happen with future models. But for the first wireless sport headphone brought out by Bose this is a win. I prefer these headphones over many others out there.
Bought them after trying a few others with high ratings and a price tag that 20-30 bucks less. Nope. Took the last "experiment" to a local BOSE store and did A-B test. Returned the cheaper pair back to Amazon next day. Here is a gist, and I mix music professionally, it is not about "true" sound, it is about build quality and pleasant sound. Main most impressive feature - transparent mid range frequencies. Those are the ones that separate bad headphones from the good ones, as they are the ones you cannot change with eq. Who cares about how much low or high end is "too much" if in the middle, where most of instruments and voices are, everything sound muddy! Yes, I wish they had a little less bass. But is not too much to a point you cannot live with it. I don't get obsession with low end current generation of audio consumers have, but it is bareable. Why I mentioned this? Because low end is already done in a studio with pro-audio personnel and million dollars gear with critical acoustics and speakers to match. I don't want my headphones to emphasize any more. The artist, the producer, and the mastering engineer already did the job. But still, this headphones sounds better then anything I tested in this price range. The fit is perfect. Good I read the manual to know how little "wing tips" should be turned. No feeling that somebody stuck their pinky in my ear. No pressure on earlobes. Gentle and firm. Just as I like it. They also let a bit sound from outside that helps. I hate to hear only my heart beat when it is quiet, and as loud as the music that just stopped. They made with care, and feels like a quality product. My previous experience with BOSE customer support was great. So far I am satisfied. I have a few BOSE products already. BOSE, you did it again.
Great item. Your paying for BOSE quality. And there quality and warranty is just about best. You can't go wrong with this small Bluetooth headphones, they have fully Bluetooth headphones aswell with out the wire. But personally myself I like the wire it keeps them from getting lost from each other. And a few times one side has fallin out and fortunately the wire kept them from touching a pool of water. Oh and I dropped them in a bucket of paint still works like the day I bought them. One minor con is the battery life could of been a lot better.there are batteries in China that keep longer amount of hour play in them they could of though about battery a little better, but all in all great headphones 5 star quality. Your buying a BOSE at the end of the day. SURE bangen Olsen is better speaker company or Harmon kardon but For those of you who think that, well your way too far in my review not to be a Bose fan ;) good day mates goodluck shopping
I bought my Bose about five months ago and I am a gym rat! They have withstood the gym, outdoor workouts and a boot camp! The fit is great and doesn't bother my ears! Have that great Bose sound quality too! Have recommended to many of my friends and family!
I was doubting about buying wireless headphones, but once i put my Bose on: Dang! Even riding my bike to work or walking around the city, the quality of these headphones is amazing. Do not expect these headphones to be totally noise cancelling, because these are thought to be used during sports so you have to be aware about your surround. Totally recommended!
This is my first time buying bose. I was tired of Wired Ear phone and I needed some Blue tooth earphones. I was going to buy the Air Pods but it would take 6 weeks to ship, so I said "nah". I went to Bose and bought these. I love the sound, I have no problem with it. I wish the design looked less bulky, they do stick out some what. The earphones aren't heavy, feels nice. One more problem is the column button is off, it doesn't feel right. But all in all, I recommend these for first time users, who just want some thing to listen too and workout.
I am a college student who bought the Soundsport wireless Headphones two weeks ago. I will keep my review simple and concise. Pro: 1. Sound quality: these are the best earphones I owned. However, over-the-ear headphones do have a slightly better quality 2. Accessibility: Small size, ease to carry made these my go-to earphones, instead of using over-the-ear headphones 3. Stability inside the ear: I run, sprint and do weight exercise. Never slipped off my ears 4. Design: Sleek, and have removable ear-pieces. You can latch them easily for cleaning. 5. Easy to pair: connecting to bluetooth is easy, and you can connect it to multiple device. 6. Changing bluetooth connection: when connected to multiple device, a simple click in the power button can change bluetooth connection from device A to device B. 7. Integrated assistance: every time you turn on the earphones, it tells you what devices you are connected to, and the battery percentage left 8. Volume: this can get pretty loud, so you can seclude yourself hearing-wise from your surroundings. Cons: 1. Battery life: I am used to 12 hour battery life from over-the-ear headphones. This lasts about 5~6 2. Location of remote: the right side (where the remote is at) of the wire is always longer, and is distracting when working out. 3. Integrated assistance: every time you pair/disconnect a device, it notifies you. This gets annoying since after you pair/disconnect, you need to wait ~5 sec before playing any music. Also you cant skip this. 4. Connection Issue: sometimes I dont hear music when I connect to a device, so I have to reset. Conclusion: I use the SoundSport over my over-the-ear headphones (which is more expensive), and would recommend this product. This is an excellent piece for everyday use, and also for exercising. There are some minor issues, but the benefits significantly outweigh the cons. Buying these were one of the best investment I made. PS: I connect it to iPhone 5 and MacBook Pro. I use Spotify mainly.
I'm not an ear buds kinda guy but I got a set for Christmas and wow are these awesome I love these so much..I use them at work and when mowing the lawn. Now I only wish the battery lasted as long as my android..lol
Received as a gift and love them! Great sound, battery last a long time and charges fast. Ear pieces a comfortable and never come close to falling out no matter what form of exercise I do. Best headphones I've ever owned.
When I first started researching these, I was put off by all the negative reviews. It appears that initially there were lots of problems with them cutting out when they were exposed to sweat during a workout. However, they have been redesigned to eliminate that problem. Before buying I emailed Bose to make sure that the buds I was buying were the improved design, and they were. I've had them for several months now and am very pleased. The sound quality is excellent and battery life is as-advertised. I've had no problems whatsoever. Looks like the second iteration got the design right. It would be nice if they didn't stick out so far, but if that's what it takes to get the high quality sound, then it's definitely worth it.
Great fit. Have always had a problem with fit. The regular buds would always fall out. Now I can wear these with no problems. Great sound. So nice to listen to music with these headphones. Also, nice to be free of all the wires. Thanks Bose!
This is my 4th pair of Bose headphones and like always sound is perfect. They're very lightweight and keeps to your ears perfectly witch is important when you move including very intensive. Highly recommend!!!
I just started out with these today and was very impressed..i have known of bose for many years and always loved the quality but pricey(you get what you pay for) ..i have over the years spent alot on sport sets but they sounded bad or didnt last long..i was using jbirds..the sound was good but didnt last long, one side went..i tried other brands and heard these were coming out soon so i saved my rainy day money and gave in to bose.. They were very easy to set up and pair and was listing to them in less tan a minute after pairing them..i was so impressed that i couldnt take them off and listened to my music with quality sound and i found them very comfy for long period of time. The controls i found very comfortable to use. ..well done to you all!! Thank you.
Tried them for the first time yesterday in competitive dancing. Wow. Sooooo comfortable; no movement and no chance of dislodging from the ear. Impeccable sound and no bluetooth dropouts. Cnet is correct in their review - these are the best sport bluetooth earphones currently on the market.
I bought these headphones two days ago. I was leaning towards the Powerbeats3 but reading their reviews, too many people had issues with the sound. I read Bose's reviews and decided to try them. I have had wireless earphones before (yearbuds) which NEVER stayed in my ears when I worked out or ran. I have had three workouts (hard workouts) since buying the SoundSports; VERDICT: I LOVE THEM! This is what i was looking for. GREAT sound, perfect fit and they stay in my ears!!!! YEAH!!
I got this as Birthday present from my wife and i'm so happy with it. Excellent sound as always from Bose. only cons I have is the fitting on my ears. It falls from time to time when I start sweating. Otherwise still satisfied and worth the price.
I bought these at the beginning of the summer (a little over 4 months ago) and I'm in love. I use these in the gym every single morning and haven't had a single problem with them. The battery life is great, I usually get at least 10 hours out of every charge. I've only used them in the gym so I can't speak to how they combat wind, but the sound quality is incredible from my experience. I did a lot of research before deciding which pair of headphones to purchase, mainly between the beats alternative, and I can 100% say I think I've made the right decision. My biggest factors were that they stayed in my ear (check) and that the sound quality would stay consistent if I put my phone down and moved around the gym (check). Not a single complaint!
These are so good i gave my first pair to my girlfriend and bought another! The sound is go that i turned off the Bass Booster EQ setting on my iPhone 6S because there was too much bass! That's saying something for an earbud design. The earbuds fit very snugly with a slight twist, and are comfortable even after several hours. The bluetooth connection is very fast and reliable, and i've had not problems connecting to multiple devices. I wear the "lanyard" in front instead of behind, whcih prevents the clip from catching on my shirt collar. These headphones work like noise-cancelling headphones without the noise cancelling technology. Fantastic!
Had these about 3 months and totally happy with quality of sound and volume. All day comfort (I drive a truck and use them daily) very easy to insert into ear and they stay there. Bluetooth connection totally reliable and Bose Connect app makes for easy access to customize settings and software updates. Down side, little clip for collar doesn't last very long so buy a couple extras. I realize size has a lot to do with battery life and you can only get so much out of something so small but 8 hour run time would be nice. If I broke them today, YES I would buy more tomorrow.
I bought these and the Jaybird x3 to compare both. No comparison on sound quality! The Bose are head and shoulders above the JB. Yes the JB's are a bit louder but I prefer quality detailed sound. And the Bose are plenty loud. You won't be disappointed.
I owned Bose Sound Sports last week, The BT earphone is good for person who goes for running / jogging or person who use gym there is no hassles of wire..... Features I like with Bose Sound Sports are Easy to Connect, Comfortable to Wear Light Weight Of course the quality of sound...
This is a review of the good and bad as you can see I scored 5 on everything as when I got my headphones there were the best the sound quality for my hearing is perfect , the battery life and charging was as stated excellent .you can't feel them in your ears as the comfort is second to none ,however after 8 months of in all fairness constant daily use all the faults that other people reported did also accur to my headphones the phone button and speaker stopped working the power on button became faulty and the outer case came away from headphone . The reason I still marked 5 was the sound quality stayed perfect which for myself was the reason I purchase Bose . They replaced them immediately and I'm back to perfect again . So I scored 5 but I could of 1 and that would of also been the truth but sound quality never stopped being 5 out 5 .
Let me start off by saying, I am pretty hard on my headphones. I Squat, bench, Deadlift all week long. When I cut I run in the rain or shine and pound the pavement at the park. I picked up the SoundSport because my Beats Active broke and literally fell apart within 9 months. Durability. Incredible. I've run in the pouring down rain, I've hit them with barbells, plates and pulled on them when moving from time to time. Still holding up better than the beats with no sign of deterioration. Sound. For in-ear water reistant active headphones... These are amazing. They work well with the Galaxy 7 and Google Play Equalizer. I stream everything in high quality. People complaining about quality need to make sure they have their equalizer/phone amp set right and their streaming set to high quality. I use Google play premium specifically for that quality. I can't stand poor sound quality, hence why I got Bose. Sound is better than the beats active, aswell. Comfort. No complaints. Haven't had trouble with them falling out or not fitting. The little shirt clip actually works very well. My ears never hurt or feel uncomfortable. Easy to clean too.
I was given these headphones as a gift and it was hard to take them off the first couple of weeks. A very comfortable fit within your ear and the cable was short enough where it wasn't getting in the way so it made it great for working out, running etc. They have never fallen out my ears which was originally such a pain for all the other brands I purchased in the past. The sound is great! It's basically noise cancelling when I have them up loud about 3/4 of the way. Good base etc. The bluetooth setup was the fastest I've ever seen with any piece of connected hardware so that was great. My only issue with the headphones is that I've only owned them 6 months and the rubber casing is falling off and getting worse by the week. Sound quality has not been disrupted so I believe it's just a cosmetic thing but still annoying given how well I maintain them/transport etc.
I have a Siberian Husky, he needs exercise and I'm the one that as to do it. We run every single day, some days I even harness him up and he pulls me on either a longboard, a snowboard, or an offroad board. The SoundSport wireless headphones have stood up to everything I've thrown at them. Not one single time did they even come close to falling out of my ear. QUICK Pros: - Comfort: 7.5/10 docked points due to weight. The first 4ish hours with these on is fine, after 4 though I want to switch to my more lightweight Bose Quiet Comfort in-ear headphones. - Stay in Ear Factor: 10/10 - Loudness: 10/10 AS LOUD AS YOU WANT THEM - Bass: 10/10 BASS is off the charts, I cannot stress this. My ears vibrate if I want them, and I love it. - Battery Life: 8/10 6 hour battery life is a long time. I also think the weight is mostly from the battery. Still an even longer battery would be awesome. - Charge Time: 10/10 A 10min charge from fully empty is enough to last through a 45min run and still not be dead. Full charge achieved in about an hour. - Buttons: 10/10 BIG RUGGED BUTTONS. Not overly large, but they pop enough to be accessible through gloves. - Range: 10/10 extremely large range for the bluetooth - Sound Clarity before update: 8/10 very infrequent, but still present chirp interrupting music, though I haven't had it happen since the update - Sound Clarity after update: 10/10 very clear and above average. no chirp. update is available for each headphone. MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE IT QUICK Cons: - will not comfortably fit inside a full-face Motorcycle Helmet. - would have been cool to have different voices. The included bluetooth lady voice meets expectations, but customization is preferable. Pros: - Stays in Ear: I have fallen on concrete and snow alike and the headphones remained securely in my ears. This is pro number one, as the entire reason for these headphones is to be active. - Stay Clip: Though this seems like a simple thing, if your like me, its a main feature. I really dislike things bouncing on my skin while I run, luckily the clip included is very strong and will not fall off. Also it doubles as a way to keep the cord behind your head, which I found to be more aesthetically pleasing. - Aesthetics: These headphones look the part, not that people really have a chance to look at them while your flying by. Still the shining Bose logo on the sides, while very small, is always a very nice touch. - Battery life: I cannot count the number of times I've forgotten to plug these in after a run. This being said the speed at which they charge has played a big factor in keeping me satisfied. I would estimate 45min+ from a 10min charge time. At full battery life the quoted 6 hours is to be expected from the specs. - Music Volume: The phone itself has a volume meter, the Bose headphones has they're own meter. I set the phone to max, and headphones to my comfort level. They can get louder than I want them to, which in my book is a plus. I would rather headphones that can be as loud as my heart desires. - Bass: I was very impressed by the bass on these, when plugged in my galaxy, with the tuner turned in favor of bass, my ears will vibrate, which is exactly what I wanted. Note: windows built in music software is surprisingly not good enough. meaning the tuner itself can not make the bass vibrate like when plugged into my galaxy with the SoundAlive option. - Included Bose App: App functionality is very usable. There is a manual right there with detailed instructions. The background provided for the now playing screen is also a nice addition.
I was offered to try the Bose Sound Sport Wireless in exchange for an honest review. I am an avid runner (5ks to Marathons) and I work out often while listening to music. I enjoy the freedom of using a wireless headset. The headset is really good on battery. I used it everyday for 5 days straight and I didn’t need to charge the battery. The sound quality is amazing. It definitely blocks out outside noise; so I had to keep the volume lower while running outside in order to hear cars and people passing. I work from home a couple of days a week and I also enjoyed using the headset to take conference calls and walk about freely. I was surprised at how far I could walk way from the phone and still be connected. I also liked that I can connect the headset to multiple bluetooth devices at the same time. I used the headset the most while running both indoors and outdoor. The last time I used it was for a 5 mile race, running in pouring rain. The sound was on point, the earbuds didn’t slip out; overall help up very nicely. The only CON I could find for the product is the charging cable it’s so short, but I guess I could try to use any micro-USB charger. One last thing i wanted to note is BOSE customer service is exceptional. The first headset I received would not charge. I called in, they took my info and sent me a UPS label the same day so I could send the defective set back. Within the week I had the new headset which works fantastic! I would recommend this product for anyone, but if you lead an active lifestyle and don’t like to hassle with wires, this is the heed you want.
I've had these for about a year now, and I absolutely love them. I don't usually do reviews, but I'm probably going to be a lifelong Bose customer, so I think it would be beneficial for them to be able to see my opinions so they can continue to make improvements to their products. I'm also procrastinating on some homework.
I'll start with the areas I think could be improved. As others have said, they do stick out a bit. Looking straight at my face, they extend slightly past the edges of my ears. Although the way it looks doesn't bother me, they do catch some air while running outside with them. In very windy conditions, it can be hard to hear the music. I'm not sure how other earphones sound in the wind because I've never used another brand, but it is something I think Bose should try to address in future models. Despite sticking out, they don't move much if I shake my head, which is a positive thing. I wouldn't be able to wear them while running if they were jiggling around with every step. Second, the volume buttons feel weird to press. They work just fine, but they move side to side easily when pushing on them. It's hard to explain, but it is obvious if you have ever played around with them before. I can't imagine this being too difficult of a fix, so I would like to see an improvement here. My last complaint is on the stayhear tips. The large size stays in my ear the best while running, but the cup that goes into the ear canal is a bit too big. They make the earpiece slowly slide out of my ear canal as I'm bouncing up and down during my run, but they never actually fall completely out of my ear thanks to the large ridge support. I can still hear my music, but it allows more outside noise to get in. It feels like I need an earpiece with the large ridge support, but just the medium sized cup. That's actually what brought me to this website tonight. I was going to look to see if they've released updated tips that could help me with this. Maybe it's just a problem with my ears. Whatever the case, this is also a minor issue. I've gone a whole year with them as they are now, and I buy them again if I had to.
On the positive side, I think the sound quality is great. My sister own a pair of earphones made by a different company that starts with a B and they aren't even comparable. She asks to use mine quite often. The bass is surprisingly powerful. Sometimes I think about using these headphones while driving instead of using my car's audio system, which, sadly, is not yet equipped with Bose speakers. The cup on the earpiece tip works great at keeping outside noise out. It just needs slight adjustment so they don't slide out of the ear canal. I did have some ear fatigue the first few times I wore them for extended periods of time, but I got used to it quickly and it doesn't happen anymore. The wire is thick and feels durable. It shows no signs wearing out after a year of enduring my sweat from 100+ degree weather. I believe they claim the battery lasts 6 hours per charge, and that is about accurate. I've never actually timed how long they last, but they do last me 5-6 workouts. I've never run out of battery, and they charge from 30% to 100% in like 45 minutes, so the battery has never been a problem for me. Still lasts a long time for me after a year. They're quite durable too. I accidentally stepped on one of the earbuds once while getting out of my car, and it only suffered some minor scratches. I didn't put all 200 pounds on it, but I was still pleasantly surprised to find that the only damage was some scratches. I don't use them during calls very often, but I've been told they sound just fine when I talk. That's about all I can say on that. Finally, the Bluetooth connection stays strong for a decent distance. I've walked probably 50ish feet across an open room with zero connection problems. I've even used them without issue in my bathroom while they were connected to my laptop in my living room. Of course, if you start throwing a bunch of metal structures between your earphone and the device, they do start to get a little choppy. Most people probably don't leave their phone sitting around like that though.
That's all I can think of. I'm not proofreading so hopefully everything made sense. In short, I would definitely recommend these. There are a few areas I'd like to see improvement in future products (maybe they already have addressed some of them), but overall, I give them an A. They've survived a year without a problem, and I will continue to use Bose to satisfy my earphone needs. Also, I have the blue ones. They still look nice, but I'd probably go with black if I were to buy them again, just out of personal preference. I'm not quite sure why I didn't buy black in the first place.
