Bose SoundLink Revolve Charging Cradle

bought with the speaker about 6 weeks ago. The speaker is superb, the cradle is quite frankly absolute rubbish. The cable is an absolute nightmare to connect to the cradle and when it does finally connect, it manages to disconnect itself with the slightest movement. An embarrassment to Bose in my opinion. It is going in the bin.

I was expecting to use this a second charger but it doesn't come with a charging cable. You need to use the one that came with the speaker. Come on Bose!

Can't use it because there was no charging cable to connect the unit. I don't have the original charging cable that came with the speaker and the one I use doesn't fit into the slot. Looking at sending it back to Bose

do not recommend to anyone. Stand does not charge and the cord does not stay in. Very cheaply made.

I purchased the stand thinking it would be far easier to recharge the speaker. The cord does not stay attached to the stand and the speaker does not fit immediately onto the stand. While I wholeheartedly recommend the speaker save your money and don’t bother with the stand.

Received the charging cradle from the post today, no cable, like shows in photos with charging cable.
Nothing on the site to indicate no cable supplied.
Plugged several cable’s of good quality and no charging from the cradle what so ever, also purchased the soundLink Micro Bluetooth speaker with charging cable and not work on ether purchased products.

Very Disappointed

Just got this today. Had to put tape on the cord to get it to stay put. I had a Bose mini with a cradle and it was great. Finally got it to start charging after taping it. Very poor design. Might take it back. Will see how well the tape holds up!

Ive had my speaker and cradle for 2 yrs. This has been unreliable from the start. Its difficult to fix the cord into position, keeps disconnecting, and doesnt always connect to the speaker as well. I cannot get the direct power cord into the speaker port because it is misaligned, so have to rely on the cradle. When plugged into the cradle it may charge, it may register a connection and then drop out, and it often doesnt connect at all. There is a fault in the connection but I cant tell if its the cradle or the speaker. very frustrating and expensive, and disappointing.

I got the speaker and loved it, then I ordered the charging cradle and DID not have a cord in it. the cord from the speaker does NOT fit the Cradle , Now the Cord from the speaker is broken well. The cord for the speaker is very delicate. So now I have a over 470$ spent and no way to charge it. Not sure I want to spend more money since the first speaker was garbage.

Terrible product and very unlike Bose. Works fine when connected but the poorly designed usb c connection underneath base falls out all the time and is a hassle to re-connect. Better connecting charging lead directly to speaker

The speakers have a mini-usb connection on them and look fine without a base. I thought the base would improve the sound in some way, but they really are pretty annoying because the mini-usb cable that goes into the base on BOTH the speaker stands I bought falls out if you breathe next to them. It is poor ergonomics and for Bose, they're just not up to snuff. Glorified coasters.

I generally love Bose products, they're so well engineered. But quite honestly this dock fails, mostly doe to the 1) stiffness of the charging cord, and 2) location of the female receptor in a base recess. I have given up on this item because the cord will NOT stay in the receptor; even if I add a bit of gaff tape, it always wiggles out. Bose should redesign this base to have the male>female receptor *on the side* as opposed to underneath, maybe recessed into the base so it stays put--kind of like my Mophie wireless phone charging pad, which is also USB-C. As it is, I just plug my cord directly into the Revolver Plus; less muss, less fuss. Don't bother.

I bought this about a year ago and I can safely say that it’s the most annoying piece of equipment ever to come into our home. The lead is almost impossible to plug in and when you do finally manage to get it connected, the slightest movement will dislodge it. I rue the day I allowed myself to be sucked in by the Bose hype. The standard of this and the Revolve + Speaker are way below what their price would suggest. The only thing stopping me from putting the lot on EBay is that I wouldn’t want some other person having to go through the torture I’ve been through with this. Stay well clear.

I have both Bose soundlink sound is great my problem is with the plugs too the chargers once you connect and sit it down the plug comes out one time it took me almost 5 minutes to get it to stay in they should have put some type of clip on it to hold it in place

Previous revues said that this product had a problem with the charging cord, saying that the cord wouldn't stay attached. I wish I had taken note. I thought that Bose couldn't make anything this bad. I was wrong.

I bought this, not realising it had no cable, the Bose cable that plugs directly into the speaker does not seem to fit into socket of this cradle. So now I have to send it back and find out how to operate.

The charger cord doesn’t stay in. It takes too long to get them to start charging because the cord falls out when you flip it over

I boughht this because the usb chargin was not woring anymore. but the base is not charging either.....

Just got cradle today...horrible design. It is incredibly difficult to put USB cord in slot on bottom. Should've had so you could plug in side and have to carefully set Revolve or Revolve + on horseshoe slit and conductors...so cumbersome...much easier to plug in cord to side of revolve +.

Make design similar to samsung or i phone wireless charging pad...problem solved, happy costumers exponentially increased!

I bought the charging station with my revolver speaker. Love the speaker. The charging cradle though not so much. The cord does not stay plugged in. First thing I ever bought from Bose that I wasn’t entirely satisfied with.

I bought this about 2 years ago and I am happy to say it is still working as new. It is a really useful way to charge your Revolve speaker. I currently use it with the Revolve+ and it looks really good while ontop. The only thing I hate about this product is that it feels very cheap and it is hard to place the speaker ontop. I find myself fighting with the cradle because the groove does not match up with the speaker. Other than that it is a great product.

Why would I want to put my silver speaker on a black cradle? I chose silver to fit in with my decor - black would stand out like a sore thumb. A great omission in my opinion

Purchased a pair of these for the new resolve speakers. Read a few reviews that were critical. No problems for me, the speakers are supplied with the relevant cable and fit perfectly.

Usb dose not stay in charging base .tried several cords but they would not stay in the base .
Base should have come with its own cord .
Very disappointed.
Return progress is also very difficult to navigate .
Would Apreciactate a call from bose so I can request a replacement product

I bought this despite having seen some of the poor reviews elsewhere and thinking it can't possibly be as defective as people are saying. Well, unfortunately it really is, at least for the one I have! As you'll read in many other reviews, the micro-usb cable that is supplied with the Revolve speaker itself needs to be used with the cradle as the cradle does not come with its own cable. That's not a big problem (though it seems a bit mean on the cable front). The big issue is that the Bose usb cable does not stay in the usb socket on the bottom of the cradle. The metal part of the usb socket in the cradle is simply set too far back into the plastic casing of the cradle for the little clips on the usb plug to engage properly and so the cable just keeps falling out, even if you leave it on its own. This is especially the case if you try to make the cable sit within the S-shaped channel on the bottom of the cradle so that the cradle can then sit flat on the table/shelf. This is probably why some people have experienced intermittent charging - the plug could start off OK and then just work its way out over time as it sat there. The only way the plug stays in the socket on the cradle is if you lightly jam something between the plug and the cradle case so that there is tension held on it. Without tension it will just fall out on its own leaving you thinking the speaker is charging on the cradle, but actually the cable has disconnected! A piece of broken matchstick works but what a shockingly bad piece of design from Bose. Although I work as an engineer I think anyone could see that this is a poor piece of product design from a company that should know better. The Revolve speaker itself is really great, but don't bother with the cradle unless you're prepared to hold the plug in with something like a matchstick, or wait until Bose brings out a cradle design that actually works! Actually, even the way the usb plug fits directly into the speaker itself is not very convincing as it feels like it hasn't pushed in far enough, but it doesn't seem to fall out so easily. They clearly have problems in the Bose socket/plug design department. On the positive side, it looks nice, it iis easy to locate the speaker on the cradle, and it does give a beep once it is charging so you know it's engaged correctly. Fix the usb plug/socket issue and all will be well.

It charges very fast

The USB plug is extremely loose in the socket under the cradle and consistently falls out even on a flat surface. Have resorted to Bluetack to keep it in place! Surely some form of simple cable clip could have been incorporated into the design to avoid this problem?

This product was such a disappointment and continues to be a point of frustration do to poor product engineering. I have several Bose products and I am very pleased with them including the speaker this charger is intended to charge. Unfortunately the usb style cord that plugs into the base does not seat properly and falls out with the slightest movement of the base. I have had to tape the cord in place and half the time it does not work so when friends come by and I turn on my speaker to listen to music, instead of pride in the sound of the speaker they get to hear me explain how my cleaning lady must have moved the base to wipe the counter where it sits and then the rest of the story about how Bose has hit a new low in my eyes.

I love my two Bose SoundLink Revolve+. I'm happy with one of the charging cradles. They other has devolved to garbage in spite of identical treatment. I called customer service and was informed it was out of warranty in spite of the obvious product quality (lack of) issue. I was told I was out of luck, though the agent would look further into my situation. I don't think weeks later he's still looking. I have owned many Bose products over the years and own many now. This is the first time I've experienced a problem with a product and now I'm disappointed by rigid customer policy.

It does not have a charging cord as pictured. It is useless without it. Bose does not even sell a charging cord.

What a clever idea! No more hunting around for that micro USB cable or having to try at least twice to get it the right way up! AND our soundlink is always ready when we want to take it elsewhere! If you have one of these speakers (or more!) then I have to say this is mandatory! Plus, it it here - speedy service and great pricing

Great charger

How on earth can Bose make such amazing speakers and get the basic concept of a charging cradle so SO wrong. The point is to be able to have the cradle as an easy return to base placement instead of having to fiddle around plugging in the micro usb. This cradle actually increases the fiddling around, rarely makes a connection, you may get one after frustratingly stuffing around with its placement for ages and then at the 4 month mark it just ceases to work at all. So woefully bad and a massive fail that I normally wouldn't bother to return an inexpensive product like this but this one I will be on principal. Bose your customers who have spent 400+ on a single speaker expect much MUCH more from you when adding on with accessories. Not ok.

I just received this in the mail today. Totally disappointed. The picture of the product shows a cord. Well it doesn’t come with one. The only reason I bought this is for the power cord. The one I have now, the silver thing that plugs into the speaker is bent and you do not sell that type of power cord on your website.

The Soundlink Revolve+ is one of the worst products I ever owned. In less than a year the charging port doesn't work. I opted to buy the charging cradle and it does not work either. When you sit the speaker on it, the speaker and the base don't make a proper connection, there for not charging the speaker. So now I own an expensive speaker and I can not use it, because I can not charge it. As of today I will never buy another Bose product.

I did not realize at the time that the cradle was not necessary to charge the speaker. The sales rep did not tell me that you could charge the Resolve+ without the cradle. I would not have purchased the cradles if I'd known.

I brought this charging cradle to go with my revolve plus speaker and I find it perfect! I read the reviews left by other people and was a bit cautious based on what they said, for example;

people say that it doesn't come with a charge cable, true but I just plugged in the charge cable that came with the speaker itself, failing that I would have used my PS4 charge cable or my Samsung charge cable or just brought one of eBay for a couple of pounds, seriously its no big deal.

people also complained that the charge cable doesn't fit in or won't stay in without falling out, this is true it doesn't feel like its in even though it is and if you wiggle it slightly too and fro it does come out, BUT once you put it in and put the charging cradle on a non slip surface like my desk or a table or anywhere really, thanks to the rubber on the bottom of the cradle it hardly moves at all so no worries about the cable falling out unless you nudge the cable itself.

this is one that confuses me and I wonder if people actually used it before complaining, "reviewers" have said that placing the speaker onto the cradle is "difficult" and "fidly" and that "you don't really know its on properly and sometimes it will charge for an hour then stop randomly" total rubbish! you know when it is on properly because it makes a beeping noise to let you know and does the same when you take it off! also, it has a small flashing amber light when its charging and a solid green to show its fully charged! so how people have found this difficult is beyond me! I would say it takes a little getting used to find the right position but after a few tries it became second nature.

here's one that just completely boggles my mind, people complain that it's just sits there and "chargers my speaker, nothing else!" its a charging cradle? that's all it's supposed to do!

It's an official Bose product, with something as expensive as this speaker you just can't cut corners on the charger or charging cradles and the quality of this cradle is well worth the price.

I brought this speaker for ease of use and because it looks great, and for the price and functionality id say it exceeds all my expectations, well worth the money.

I bought this speaker a year ago and it has not let me down, when I'm on the go I throw it in my bag. the speaker does scratch up but all you have to do is wipe it off.

Love my revolve. Nothing better than sitting on my balcony listening to great music. Don't need anything else except a beer.

The actual Soundlink Revolve+ is great!! It's the cradle that is not OK. I am thoroughly amazed that BOSE has blown it with the design of this cradle!

Having a cradle plugged in, with speaker sitting on it, making the speaker always ready to go, is a great idea. Also, not having to use micro USB port on speaker to plug the speaker in every time, is a good idea... so you don't have to wear out that port on the speaker. BUT... the cradle is not reliable! The port on cradle is so poorly designed, the micro USB cord, will not stay plugged into port under cradle! So, if you leave your speaker sitting on the cradle, it may not charge! The cord does not stay plugged into cradle port! If you get it plugged in properly, the very act of turning over the cradle, so you can set the speaker on it, loosens the cord and most times, it comes out. You think it's plugged in but it is not! Even if it's plugged in when you put speaker on it, it doesn't necessarily stay plugged in. A breath of air, a gentle knock on the table where it sits, a fly landing on the speaker, you get the idea...it will not stay plugged in!!! BOSE...you need to redesign the port on the cradle! As it is, it is useless and not worth buying!

Great product as always from Bose that has a USB charge port !!!!!

Also have the ordinal Bose sound link Mini that has great sound also.

This is really hard to connect to the mini usb cord and often doesn’t stay connected nor is there a light to show you it is charging or any indication that it is fully charged. It is really hard to set the speaker on this correctly. I get about 3 days of use, so I doubt it is working. Would return if Bose ‘s customer service were friendlier, but not worth arguing with them for me.

I got this for Christmas I use it on the job produces great sound for such a small speaker.

for how much you pay for the speaker you’d expect this to come with it.

I got this as a gift yesterday and already hate it. Three times I have gone to use the speaker (which is lovely and works great and I am really happy with) to find the battery not charged because the usb has slipped out of the connection on the cradle! The s curve is such horrible design that puts too much pressure on a cable that can't accommodate it. Don't bother buying this.

Mine is one month old today. You can't go wrong with BOSE :)

Its been 6 months and I need another! Great sound!

Sound is really very impressive, it can easily shake the walls of your room, but the problem
Is after some time the speaker will automatically start turning on and even the battery life is not what Bose says it will run easily for around 4-6 hrs on full volume and continuous music.
