Awesome Sound System.
We brought this one month ago. Can I say WOW! My husband was so happy and surprised with this system. Clear dynamic sound when you are watching TV or watching a movie. The bass module adds incredible sound that you will be shocked over! Before our purchase we did look at other sound systems but this Boss system knocks it out of the park. If you purchase this you get what you pay for and believe me you will not be disappointed. You will have a sound system which will need no upgrade in a year or two. This will last for years to come.

Best soundbar sound-wise, some poor design choices
I did some major research and bought this over a year ago and am glad I did. The sound quality of this, combined with my Bose Subwoofer, it is a power pair for sound. What I like is the clean and balanced sound I get out of the whole thing. The Subwoofer supports (instead of overwhelming) the soundbar. What I particularly like is the clarity of the voice and treble - this is especially clear when I use "Dialogue Mode" - my favourite mode when watching in the evenings when children are asleep. It's truly the best sounding soundbar in the market to me. However there are 2 poor design choices that I've knocked a star off for:

1) You can only operate the soundbar with a remote control. You can't even turn it on using the Bose App or by touching the soundbar. That's bad design. My Bose Universal Remote died, and I couldn't operate the soundbar. To Bose's credit they sent me a new one free of charge, and it works fine. Every soundbar should have a physical on/off button. This is an oversight.

2) It STILL does not work with Google Assistant. Alexa isn't very useful in NZ, but my music collection is with Google Music. It's a pity that I can't use my great Bose soundbar to listen to my music collection.

Other than that, it is indeed one of the best quality sounding soundbars in the market.

I own an older model Bose home theater system. Purchased the Bose Cinemate II several years ago and was very pleased with the system. It still works great, I was just ready for something differant and wanted a wireless sub woofer. The sound of the Bose 700 soundbar and 700 wireless sub woofer is amazing. The problem was setup. My old system I just unpacked hooked it up and was listening to amazing sound in under an hour. This system was way more complicated. I still havent been able to get the remote to completely recognize my tv. Sure miss the days of plug and play. But as I said the sound of this system is amazing and I'm glad I made the purchase. I would have given it 5 stars but the setup is a bit complicated.

Beautiful Sound
Nice appearance, and heavy or maybe solid built is a better description. Very crisp highs and nice bass, (nice, solid, clean, bass for a stand alone Soundbar). Easily connects to other devices through Bluetooth and HDMI cable. The reason for a four and not a five was the remote;
1. The remote's activation of the key lights when you move the remote, this doesn't happen many times and it is very frustrating attempting to get the remote keys to light up.
2 The issue with constantly having to re-pair to the Bose 700 Soundbar.
We get a lot of positive comments and compliments on the quality of the sound, at low volume, and when turned up higher. No lose of sound quality at varied volumes.

Sounds Great, but App Fails to Deliever
This thing sounds awesome. On every level it performs well except for the bose App. I have a premium Pandora account which gives me unlimited skips I can listen to whatever song I want at will.

However, when using Pandora through the bose app, the Bose app does not recognize this!!! So what this means is I have to use the bluetooth featue and use the main pandora app so I can use the premium features.

The other down side to this is by using bluetooth, is I have to leave my phone near the soundbar since I cant walk to the house side of the house without it loosing signal.

It is because of that this thing really fails to deliver. Obviously I am not going to crank this soundbar up when I am right next to it, but when I am across the house I would like to crank it up and be able to change the music at willl. Thats possible on Wifi, but on bluetooth, I lose the signal!

Quality product designed with style
I recently bought the Bose 700 full surround set up to replace my older traditional 7.1 home theatre system. This item s the first time I ever bought a Bose product as I always felt they were a little too expensive. I wanted to simplify my set-up and reduced clutter in order to match my newly renovated home. I purchased the sound bar, base unit and matching surround speakers - choosing the highly styled white set. Although it’s not the most feature packed system, it definitely produces great sound (if set-up properly and optimised to match your environment). The sound is clear, detailed with rich bass. The system has been highly stylised and looks really sleek - much better than a room filled of ugly grey boxes and speaker cables. Music and Blu Ray movies sound really good filling my room with wide and multi dimensional, better than I expected. I really love it. The only thing I would have liked to see was support for Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio. Another great product from Bose.

Sound, Sound, Sound.
I bought the SB700 and SW700 together thinking of a complete in-room audio solution for both music and film and it's amazing. I have to say that I have not tried it yet in Cinema ..., because before I will buy a TV with HDMI ARC, but in Music, which is what I enjoy the most, it is amazing using audio streaming audio. The bass is powerful but clear and undistorted in all types of music and with that audio balance that characterizes Bose, which although it can be customized, I love how it sounds by default. The connection to Wi-Fi is excellent and the integration with Android is very friendly, although the bose music APP has had some difficulties in connecting, it has been solved by restarting the Router or turning off and turning on the Wi-Fi of the phone. At first my wife did not understand how I paid so much for the system ... But she was convinced to the point of stopping using her old music system and now she is the one who uses Alexa the most. Is it important the fact of no having DTS X or Dolby Atmos support? I don't know, I think most important is sound quality.

Is this an active or passive speaker?
A shopper on Apr 3, 2020
Thanks for your question. The Bose soundbars are all active (powered) designs.
Can the voice assistants be disabled?
A shopper on Dec 30, 2019
Thanks for your question. The voice assistants can be disabled by turning off the microphone. The microphone off button is located on the sound bar.
Can I connect with wires instead of wireless?

Do I need amplifier or any additional equipment or just the tv?
A shopper on Mar 24, 2019
Thanks for your inquiry! This soundbar can connect to your TV with an optical cable or via HDMI ARC. Wireless connection is only necessary for music streaming through the Bose app. This soundbar is active, meaning it has its own amplifier built in, and thus does not need an external amplifier. Just connect to your TV, and you're good to go!
I'm using a projector and a screen that comes down from the ceiling in the passage between the living room and the stairs. So I can't put anything directly under the screen because that's where people walk when the screen is up. Can I mount this above the screen under the ceiling? And can I control 2 sources (Apple TV and Playstation) with this device as I have seen with other receivers (use it as a switch to direct either signal to the projector)? Thanks for your help, tom
Tom G on Mar 11, 2019
The best sound will come with the sound bar playing as close to ear-level-when-sitting as possible but we do what we're able in a given room. The bar will allow you to switch between more than one playback source.
How many watts is the 700?
david m on Feb 6, 2019
Bose does not specify the wattage of their soundbars, as the amplifier is designed to perfectly match the unique needs of the design and provide the best possible performance.
