The headphone wire is very small.
Sound quality is superb. Exceptions headphones for making and receiving phone calls. It is very uncomfortable with very small wire for headphones. When you turn your head right or left, the headphones are coming out. I would have given 5 Star, if wire is long enough. Not sure why Bose did not think about length of the wire and design. Headphone wires are NOT retractable.

Excellent Option!
I was completely shocked by how much I instantly loved these headphones. I am by no means an audiophile so I won't pretend to know if these meet some level of quality that true audiophiles will require. But I am someone that listens to music daily and know what a great sounding headphone should be. These continue to meet my expectation for headphones that come from Bose. There was no shock there. What did shock me was how comfortable they were to wear even with the band resting on my neck (I barely noticed it there and I'm not a fan of having something on my neck like that). The earbuds themselves were surprisingly comfortable despite the size...and the design made them securely stay in place without feeling like I was wearing something that had to be shoved deep into my ear. I was able to walk a decent distance from my connected device (my iPhone and my MacBook Pro) without losing connection or sound quality. Battery life if exceptional. And the noise canceling is great. Although these don't 100% block out the background noise they do mute it to an almost indistinguishable noise level when the feature is turned to it's highest level. It's also excellent at using for phone calls. I was able to have a conversation while at a very loud and crowded high school football game where the caller was able to hear me clearly in spite of the noise level around me. Ultimately I would definitely recommend these to anyone that wants a quality wireless earbud style headphone that offers the perk of acoustic noise canceling. Definitely a comfortable high quality headphone.

Excellent headphones and well worth the $$
I bought these a couple months ago for myself and my husband and love them! There was 1 flaw until today when Bose upgraded their software. You could no longer watch a movie with someone using these. Normally, we had to use an adapter on our old nose noise canceling wireless headphones to watch a movie together on the iPad. We travel a lot for work and long flights like to watch movies together. Today, there was a new option in the app and you can now pair multiple wireless headphones on 1 iPad!!!! Thanks Bose! Great job!!!!!

By far the BEST!
I have owned all kinds of headphones and these are by far the best. I have been waiting for Bose to release a wireless Noise Canceling version. Well worth the wait. Remember, Noise Canceling is NOT designed to cancel voice. You will still be able to hear voices with these, just like ANYTHNG that is Noise Canceling. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

With audio ports disappearing, I need a good mic!
The QuietControl 30 is great in all but one aspect. It allows me to select the level of noise cancellation. The ear buds are about as comfortable as earbuds will ever be, and the audio is pretty darn good. The biggest shortcoming is the microphone quality. If this is supposed to replace my bluetooth headset for my phone (given audio ports are going the way of the dodo) I need a quality microphone. The QuietControl 30 sounds like I'm on speakerphone while under water. If the team can fix this, they could have a really good product.

Awesome, great...
I just bought a pair of these about a week ago. Compared to the ones that are wired, these are just as good or better. In my case they are better because I use them for the gym, and also just when I'm listening to music or talking to someone. The sound quality is good and the best part is the noise canceling. Specially when I'm at the gym and want to ignore all those people to just go there to talk. I could not hear anyone at all. The quality seems pretty good, but I only had these for about two weeks so let's see how they hold up, compared to my Jaybirds which are garbage.

Excellent headphones
My first impression after receiving these headphones today was it felt well made and of high quality. I've gone though quite a few headsets and this one has a better build quality than all of the others. Even though I only tested these out for around 2 hours so far, I put them through all they offer. The sound and noise cancelling are great as well as very comfortable. I took them to a busy area outside and then to a quiet area. There's no doubt in my mind that they do their job well. The neckband is even hardly noticeable and well designed. I tried one phone call and it worked flawlessly. Not sure what some of the others were talking about with a poor mic since this unit worked great. I haven't tried it in a noisy environment so maybe that is what they meant. The app is very simple and although not feature packed it's what Bose does best. Simple and it works. Overall, highly recommend!!

Extremely Comfortable
Ok today is the release of the QC 30's but first aspect I was curious about was how the band would fit. It is extremely flexible and easy to place around your neck. Controls are easy to feel and use while wearing the band. While holding it in hand you notice its weight (still light) however that disappears once you have it on your neck. It is all but non existent. The short cords to the earbuds also preclude the cords being in the way and there is no "microphone noise" that is noise from the wires rubbing against you which are heard. Extremely conformable to wear. The fit and sound quality seemed identical to the QC 20 - but without a cord to get into the way. Earbuds fit securely in your ear and block significant amounts of background noise. Set up was easy and app is nice. You can have it announce the connection and battery power - perhaps here is where I would challenge BOSE to have a better voice quality. A competitor has far superior voice announcements in their bluetooth earbuds. Full disclosure- I did only try english. Another review noted that the product isn't yet listed for registration. My primary use will be to have on while reading enjoying background music. I tried this out with a football game on in the background. The noise reduction would allow me to sit in front of the TV and quietly read away without any disturbance from the game. I used toe app to change the noise reduction which allow you to get to whatever point you want to hear background - quite nice. The headphones were about 70% charged so I fully charged and there is a yellow flashing light which is quite noticeable and changes to green when fully charged. A nice hard sided case is provided which will safely carry the headphones.

great performance, even on the slopes
I've been using the QC30s for about 3 months and getting more use from my music apps because of the headphones' ease of use and the quality of the sound. Wireless is great way to go. The adjustable noise cancelling is very effective on my train and subway commute, and even in my house when there are other noises in the background. I was a little worried about how they would work while skiing, where phones and battery life suffer in the cold. Well being able to keep my phone in a warm interior pocket helps on phone life and the QC30s stayed plenty warm on my neck, so that performance did not suffer at all. After 6 hours of skiing, I still had 50% battery life. And the length of the wires was fine coming up through my layers/coat and under the earpieces of my helmet. Mobility was fine. Great product and really happy that it works so easily in an environment where performance for a wired set up is often compromised.
