The headphone wire is very small.
Sound quality is superb. Exceptions headphones for making and receiving phone calls. It is very uncomfortable with very small wire for headphones. When you turn your head right or left, the headphones are coming out. I would have given 5 Star, if wire is long enough. Not sure why Bose did not think about length of the wire and design. Headphone wires are NOT retractable.

Excellent Option!
I was completely shocked by how much I instantly loved these headphones. I am by no means an audiophile so I won't pretend to know if these meet some level of quality that true audiophiles will require. But I am someone that listens to music daily and know what a great sounding headphone should be. These continue to meet my expectation for headphones that come from Bose. There was no shock there. What did shock me was how comfortable they were to wear even with the band resting on my neck (I barely noticed it there and I'm not a fan of having something on my neck like that). The earbuds themselves were surprisingly comfortable despite the size...and the design made them securely stay in place without feeling like I was wearing something that had to be shoved deep into my ear. I was able to walk a decent distance from my connected device (my iPhone and my MacBook Pro) without losing connection or sound quality. Battery life if exceptional. And the noise canceling is great. Although these don't 100% block out the background noise they do mute it to an almost indistinguishable noise level when the feature is turned to it's highest level. It's also excellent at using for phone calls. I was able to have a conversation while at a very loud and crowded high school football game where the caller was able to hear me clearly in spite of the noise level around me. Ultimately I would definitely recommend these to anyone that wants a quality wireless earbud style headphone that offers the perk of acoustic noise canceling. Definitely a comfortable high quality headphone.

Simply Outstanding
Got These this morning 9 October 2016, they are incredibe. I loved my QC20s but the QC30s are much more flexible. I love the quirky design and the variable noise cancelling is amazing. They are great too in that you can keep them round your neck even without them in your ears. Great when travelling, no worries about losing them or snagging them on things. If in ear 'phones are your listening choice these are the ones to go for. Thank you Bose you have set the bar very high once again.

Great sound and easy to use, but.....
Purchased the QC30's and found the sound to be strong and clear. Using the QC30's was easy and pairing was no trouble at all. The earphones controls are well positioned and have a high quality feel. You hardly notice the "collar" part of the earphones around the neck and it is handy when you remove the earphones as they just hang handily. The "collar" seems to have a tendency to move round your neck quite easily though and this is annoying as I found the earphones then pulled tight in one ear. The downside to these earphones is that I found that the sound stuttered and crackled quite regularly- almost as if there was interference, which there wasn't as it happened in different places with different devices. I also found if you covered the "collar" it crackled again. Others are stating the same issue.

Could Have Been Perfect!
This is the big brother upgrade from the QC20s so I would have expected the headset to be better in every way. And it came SO close, the noise cancelling is great, sound quality is very good and even the battery is okay.

Unfortunately, as others have mentioned the headset falls short in one very important category:
Call Quality -- the quality on this headset is absolutely appalling. I'm not sure if it's the microphone quality or just due to a poor placement, but the call quality is unbearable. I've had a handful of people tell me that they can't hear me properly (and this was when I was indoors in an office). When you're outside, the microphone picks up wind like a wind spinner.

This is a shame, because Bose seems to be appealing this headset to business people.

The most amazing headset
I have QC30 since last one month and it's the most useable noise cancellation headset on planet. Noise cancellation is amazing and being able to control level of noise is a very-2 useful feature esp to avoid making my wife upset. With full noise cancellation I can't really hear her :). Sound quality is amazing. Comfort is beyond words. Just too good. Most of the time I don't even realize I have anything on. Battery life is batter than what Bose stated.

I wish Bose made an accessory so that neckband can stay at one place. I am sure they will be making something soon to solve this issue. Headset is fully useable but I can't run with it for now.

Comparing with QC 35, I tried my best to love Bose QC 35 as sound quality of it is the best. However, QC 30 does a much batter job in the following areas:

- It is painful to take calls on 35 as only mode for it is noise cancellation, so I can't hear my own voice. 30 automatically reduces noise cancellation level so that I can hear myself very clear. I use headset more than 50% time for taking calls so 35 is not an option at all.
- If you wear glasses, 35 put a lot of stress and makes it uncomfortable for long use. 30 are amazingly comfortable for all day use.
- 35 have weird suction effect and experience of lisening does not feel natural. 30 at the other hand has no such issue. Experience is perfectly natural.
- key part of the experience is when you don't need to use headset but you need to still carry those e.g. you start talking to a colleague f2f. QC 30 just disappears. Take the ear plug out and forget about the headset. 35 will be awkwardly lying around your neck.

I do think 35 has some edge on sound quality but 30 is really useable with amazing sound and noise cancellation over Bluetooth. Figure out your needs first. If you make a lot of calls, QC 30 is the most obvious choice. I noticed some people are complaining about the call quality on QC 30, I have not heard even a single complain after using it for 100s of hours of call. If I am in a very-2 noisy area, recipient will surely hear some noise but they hear me clearly as well. I always hear other clearly as I can shut all the noise :).

Excellent headphones and well worth the $$
I bought these a couple months ago for myself and my husband and love them! There was 1 flaw until today when Bose upgraded their software. You could no longer watch a movie with someone using these. Normally, we had to use an adapter on our old nose noise canceling wireless headphones to watch a movie together on the iPad. We travel a lot for work and long flights like to watch movies together. Today, there was a new option in the app and you can now pair multiple wireless headphones on 1 iPad!!!! Thanks Bose! Great job!!!!!

I have owned all kinds of headphones and these are by far the best. I have been waiting for Bose to release a wireless Noise Canceling version. Well worth the wait. Remember, Noise Canceling is NOT designed to cancel voice. You will still be able to hear voices with these, just like ANYTHNG that is Noise Canceling. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

With audio ports disappearing, I need a good mic!
The QuietControl 30 is great in all but one aspect. It allows me to select the level of noise cancellation. The ear buds are about as comfortable as earbuds will ever be, and the audio is pretty darn good. The biggest shortcoming is the microphone quality. If this is supposed to replace my bluetooth headset for my phone (given audio ports are going the way of the dodo) I need a quality microphone. The QuietControl 30 sounds like I'm on speakerphone while under water. If the team can fix this, they could have a really good product.
