I know Ethernet has something to do with hardwiring your tv to internet but how does one do that if your tv is in your living room and your router is in a office not near tv? We have coaxial cable in walls but cut the chord on cable so now we stream YouTube tv. I dont want to run cable through walls. Can you use the coaxial cable thats in the wall by tv like we do in the office for our internet?
Thanks for your question. Many smart TVs can connect to the internet using an ethernet cable (not the AudioQuest HDMI with Ethernet). If your wifi is not strong enough your internet service provider may be able to install a wifi extender device or our home installation technicians could provide that service. They may be contacted at 866-961-7781 and can discuss your needs and our current in home capabilities and policies.
What does it mean by Ethernet connection on the HDMI cable?
Thanks for the question. An ethernet connection is customarily a hard wired connection between a router internet source - and a computer. Typically an RJ45 connection. Recently, with the advent of video streaming sources some router and ethernet switching devices offer an HDMI output jack that contains streaming video as well as a hard wired internet connection. The AQ Cinnamon cable has the bandwidth necessary to carry both ethernet and streaming video.
