Audiolab 6000CDT Dedicated CD Transport with Remote

Nicely built and good looking transport that plays everything I toss in it without issue. Definitely bringing some more detail to the music than the player it replaced.

At the $499 sale price that I purchased it at, it's a smoking deal. The 6000CDT is a great transport that is quiet and is an excellent match for my 6000a integrated amp. It's the best-sounding CD 'device' that I've ever owned.

Very well built unit but the sound is why you buy a transport and I can say the better the DAC you use the better the sound gets so this transport will not be out of place with a $4000 DAC. Highly Recommended!

Audiolab, and World Wide Stereo, you should put that at the top of the list of features for this unit. Had I known this I would have purchased this unit much much sooner than I did. This does full justice to Dark Side of The Moon and all other CDs with tracks that segue. The Cambridge player this is replacing lacked this continuous play back capability. The Cambridge would, also in about 1 play in 10 stop reading discs for no apparent reason. Stop the player, eject the disc, put it back and it plays fine, weird and a tad frustrating.
The Audiolab 6000 CDT has met all my expectations so far. I hear a little more detail. Highs are more open and airy. Bass is tighter, quicker yet more present. Mid range sounds sweeter and more life like. The sound stage is wider and deeper than the Cambridge.
I think I bought one of their last on sale units too.

The player sounds fine, I can't say it's great because I have nothing to compare it to. Plays my disc's fine and sounds great, what more can I ask for.

I am very happy! Using Cambridge CXA81 amp's DAC and was surprised at the amount of detail I was missing using a CD player with built in DAC.Takes the music to another level!

Don’t know about the first 5,999 but I love the 6000! Great transport. I use the dac on my Cambridge CXN. The CDT sounds very spacious and detailed. Wide soundstage with all the nuance and detail of live music. I have a Black Ice vacuum tube receiver and I think being a tube amp it flatters the CDT. This is a straight forward cd transport with no effort wasted on bells and whistles. Smooth operation. My first slot loading cd player. Kinda nice not having the extra step of opening and closing a tray. Like all great audio products the addition of the Audiolab 6000CDT will make you want to play all your media (cd’s in this case) again. It’s like a new pair of ears! I had some difficulty with connecting it to studio power amp but DacMagic Plus appears to have resolved that. I am also burning in speakers so sound hasn’t reached potential. This review is more about good service than the item.

Highly recommend. Separates layers of sound.Excellent with all types of music and wonderful with voices. I have it paired with a Krell Vanguard Integrated amp,and Martin Logan 60XTi’s.I also have Cambridge Audioand Oppo players.I like the single slot and the clean modern style.
