Small Speakers, Big Sound
These handsome bookshelf speakers are ready to roll out your music, movies, sports and other pleasures with audiophile-level quality in a tidy package. All the toys you want are here, including real low-end bass, built-in power amps, custom woofers and tweeters, gold-plated connectors, dual RCA and mini-jack audio inputs, and heavy-duty cabinets to protect your investment.
You will really improve your computer-based listening when you connect your bookshelf speakers to the headphone jack or even add a USB digital to analog converter for a game-changing sound upgrade. There is no need for an external amplifier or receiver, but you can add a subwoofer to the variable output if you like to bump up your bass for big tunes or action films.
Quality Components Make Quality Sound
The A5+ speakers are manufactured with custom-built, high end materials and pleasing conveniences such as a solid aluminum remote control, front-panel volume control and USB power/charge port. The five-inch Kevlar woofers with advanced voice coils are strong enough to eschew speaker grills and will not distort or stretch out of shape with ongoing play, and the silk dome tweeters are responsive and resilient.
The A5+ speakers also have variable preamp audio output for connecting a subwoofer like the Audioengine S8 for a little extra low end. Thermal management ensures a long life for your built-in power amplifiers. Sound is carefully managed thanks to strong cabinet walls with rear-ported waveguide and rounded edges to reduce high-frequency diffraction effects, and internal sound-damping and bracing to absorb unwanted resonance and distortion.
Hook the high-end bookshelf speakers up to yourcomputer, TV, or turntable using a mini-jack or RCA audio outputs. No other components such as an amplifier are needed.
Versatility and Style To Suit Your Space
These high-end bookshelf speakers are sleek and styled to blend with your space. The shape is distinctly rounded and custom finished to furniture grade. These compact speakers can be placed in a range of locations including on speaker stands, wall shelf or desktop. You can also wall-mount your speakers with built-in inserts on the back and bottom of the cabinet positioned for standard bracketing systems. You can place the speakers beside other electronics because the Neodymium magnets in the drivers are shielded.
You will love the sound straight out of the box; however, the 30 to 50 hours of break-in time will develop peak sound that is ready for critical listening. Set up your soundstage with the right balance, placing the speakers about six feet apart and equally offset from the side walls. Place one closer to the back wall, if you can, and try to keep both speakers fairly close to the front of the surface. Tweeters are ideally place at eye-level and, if you place a speaker on its side, make sure the tweeters face outward. Always try to keep the bass port slots unobstructed to attain the best bass response.
Quality Designed in America
Audioengine is a quality Texas-based manufacturer with a reputation for affordable high performance audio components. This is a company that builds their critical components in-house and only sends out custom manufacturing to their trusted suppliers. The final product is hand-built, assembled and finished to create a consistent, signature sound.
Go Old School
Traditionally, analog amps are found in only high-end systems, but Audioengine speakers, at a fraction of the price, are special... Their class A/B analog amps sound incredible compared to cheaper digital amps found in other mass-produced brands. Set your system apart with a high-performance, retro style.
