Product Information

Spin Records with the Ultimate Convenience of Full-Auto.

The new Andover SpinDeck MAX answers the call for the convenience of fully automatic operation without the performance compromises inherent in most automatic turntables. Built in Germany by a factory with over 60 years of experience building renowned turntables, SpinDeck MAX strikes an ideal balance between performance and convenience. Thanks to precision bearings and a low-mass tonearm, it comes pre-adjusted for the installed Ortofon OM10 cartridge with an ultra-light 1.5 gram tracking force. The belt drive system is based around a rubber-isolated, low-vibration DC motor with internal electronic servo regulation for accurate speed and inaudibly low Wow and Flutter. The machined aluminum platter and tonearm are isolated from its dense MDF plinth by computer-designed elastomeric cones to absorb vibration and assure stable playback even on unstable surfaces.

My Second Spinmax
I wrote a previous review of my black complete Andover setup with the SpinMax, SpinBase, SpinSub and SpinRack. An awesome system. I liked the SpinMax so well that I purchased a white one for a different area of the house. This white SpinMax is hooked up to a Cambridge Preamp and routed to a 110 watt per channel Sony 5.1 receiver. I'm using the turntable with the 5.1 setup which consists of two quality tower speakers, center channel speaker, subwoofer and two rear channel speakers. The receiver simulates 5.1 channels for the turntable. All I can say is "wow". What a great sounding system and this turntable truly performs. It's mechanism is butter smooth. There are not many higher end "automatic" turntables out there. Most are manual. It is just so nice to get top performance from an automatic. I can put my record on, lay down and not have to worry about dozing off. True convenience, fantastic reproduction. What more could you ask for?

Awesome Turntable
I highly recommend this turntable. In fact I find the entire Andover system to be awesome. I own the SpinDeck Max, the SpinBase and the SpinSub. All housed in the SpinRack Audio Stand. This system sounds fantastic without the subwoofer. With the subwoofer it will blow you away for such a compact unit. I was wishing for a high quality automatic turntable and Andover came through with this unit. It is absolutely beautiful and produces beautiful sound with that high quality Ortofon cartridge. It is not easy to find a higher performance automatic turntable these days. Most of your high performance models are manual operating. When this German made beauty surfaced I snapped it up. It is just so convenient to put a record on, lay back and rest and not have to worry about getting up and stopping the turntable. There are a few lower priced automatic turntables out there and they do sound very nice. But after listening to the Andover turntable there is a definite sonic upgrade over those lower priced options. The music is so sharp and defined. I can't say enough about how nice this SpinDeck Max is. World Wide Stereo is a very nice company to deal with. After purchasing the turntable they email me asking how I liked the turntable and if I had any questions. I am super pleased with all of my Andover products. If you want a top quality system in a space saving design, this is it.

SpinDeck MAX - Is GREAT!!!!!!
Listening to music began for me as something my father played on his old reel to reel Sony. The sound filtered through his Sansui Hi Fi. The rich tones, deep bass and brilliant melodies gave my ears a caress that I will always remember. That sound would be tested as I entered work in a skating rink in the late 70's. The sound there was flat and tinny but the place was electrifying. Making my own session lists, stacking the 45's and enjoying the atmosphere led me to appreciate all types of music. Then the late 80's came in force and the vinyl discs were replaced by cd's and cassette tapes. I saw the old 45's & 33's disappear from store shelves. The music began to sound unclear at the beginning of the digital age and that shut down my desire to hear music. Fast forward 20+years and I found myself staring at my grandmothers old Magnavox console stereo with turntable and my desire for listening to Vinyl returned with a vengeance. I started buying used vinyl. I almost stopped again when I realized that the console was a mono turntable.(not stereo) The search began anew and I went through many low end machines with "as usual" lapses in sound quality.
The search for a high quality, high value turntable led me to the SpinDeck Max. As a listener, the ability to set and play an album is highly attractive. (can you say AUTO-MATIC) You will not be disappointed by this turntable.Still would like a stackable for my 300+ 45's that isn't a vintage player.

Does this Andover SpinDeck stop when the record is complete? In other words does the tonearm pickup from the moving platter at the end of play?

Thanks for your inquiry. The Andover Audio Spindeck Max Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable (Black) tonearm lifts and returns at the end of play.
