Video transcript
Steve: Steve Morrison for the Preston and Steve show here at World Wide Stereo in Montgomeryville. It is an amazing place to be. We're in the higher end room. Bob Cole, ladies and gentlemen. Adam here giving me the information on everything. Bob, you're the head muckety-muck here. What is this turntable? What the hell are we looking at?
Bob: Well this is one of the finest of the finest without getting really crazy. If you want the best sound possible, you get a turntable.
Steve: Are you… now everyone talks about this, and the audiophiles are all clamoring to get the high-end turntable equipment. Is that the truth? Do you find that there is a much better sound to a record?
Bob: There is. And anybody… you know, some would just say it's different. Depends. You know, some people like screeching and yelling and fingernails on a blackboard, but turntables, people go “yeah, that's the best thing I've ever heard.” Adam, tell him about it.
Adam: Sure. So this turntable from Pro-Ject right here — the Pro-Ject Xtension 10 Turntable — what makes it so special is a lot of it is its density. How thick it is.
Steve: Right.
Adam: This little needle here is trying to pick up little vibrations that are on the record, but it doesn't know the difference between Bob shouting and the little grooves that are on a record. So this thing right here being as thick as it is...
Steve: No vibration.
Adam: ...no vibration. It's actually also floating on magnets down here underneath. So that thing is completely floating. Weighs 50 pounds, but it's floating on magnets.
Steve: A 50 pound turntable?
Adam: Yes.
Steve: Alright, so this is high end. Obviously we're talking about price here, but you have turntables for all budgets.
Adam: Fifty-nine bucks and up.
Bob: Fifty-nine bucks and up. It's the thing.
Steve: A lot of people getting into it. You hear people talking about how much they're loving records and how much better the sound is. Why not find out for yourself? Come out to the experts, Bob Cole and Adam here at World Wide Stereo.
Bob: And I never shout.
Steve: He never shouts.
Bob: I mean I don't shout.
Steve: Never. I've never even witnessed that.
Bob: Mario!
Steve: There you go.
